Nestle Maintains Leadership Among Food Brands
Nestle once again secured the top spot in the global food brand ranking prepared by the consulting firm Brand Finance. The Swiss manufacturer has maintained this position for eleven consecutive years.
In second place remains the Lay’s chips brand, with its value increasing by 18.7% to $15.1 billion. The third position was taken by the Chinese dairy producer Yili, which rose by 29.2% to $14.5 billion in valuation.
French company Danone moved from the fifth position to the fourth, despite a 0.4% decrease in brand value to $8.24 billion. American Tyson, which held the fourth place last year, dropped to fifth as its value decreased by 24.3% to $7.5 billion.
Kellogg’s retained the sixth position, with its brand value increasing by 13.9% to $6.865 billion. The American brand Doritos took the seventh spot after a 22.8% increase to $6.62 billion.
The Chinese dairy producer Mengniu climbed from the eleventh to the eighth position. Its brand value increased by 26% to $5.965 billion. Swiss Lindt moved from tenth to ninth place after an 11% rise to $5.46 billion, while Italian Barilla fell from ninth to tenth despite a 7.9% increase to $5.38 billion.
The brand of the Taiwanese company Uni-President, which produces beverages and instant noodles, left the top ten and took 12th place. The total value of the world's 100 largest food brands reached $278.3 billion, including 39 American brands, ten Italian, and nine Chinese; five brands each represent Japan and India.
