Nestlé Increases Sales in Spain by 4% Thanks to Promotions and Exports
In an impressive show of resilience amidst economic challenges, Nestlé achieved a sales increase of 4% in Spain for the year 2024. The Swiss food giant reported a total revenue of €2.582 billion in the Spanish market, attributing this growth to strategic promotions and a significant push in exports.
Breaking down the figures, sales within Spain saw a rise of 1.7%, crossing €1.544 billion. Significant increases in value were observed in the coffee, chocolate, and nutrition sectors. Despite stabilizing inflation, high consumer inflation rates continued to pose challenges. However, it was the export segment that showed the most robust growth, rising by 7% and for the first time exceeding €1 billion, accounting for 40% of Nestlé’s total sales in Spain.
Under the leadership of Jordi Llach, managing director of Nestlé Spain, the company focused on strengthening brand presence and offering more promotions to connect better with consumers. Nestlé invested €76 million in its Spanish operations, with a significant portion allocated to its ten production facilities across the country.
Nestlé also made notable strides towards sustainable production. Key investments included the installation of an additional biomass boiler for its Girona coffee factory, expanding biomass steam production capacity in La Penilla de Cayón, and a new photovoltaic solar park at its Aquarel bottling facility in Herrera del Duque.
Globally, Nestlé recorded a total income of CHF 91.354 billion, equivalent to approximately €96.6 billion, marking a slight decrease of 1.8% from the previous year. The net profit reached CHF 10.884 billion, or about €11.5 billion, reflecting a 2.9% decline.
