Mato Grosso Milk Prices Set to Rise by 2%
The Conseleite-MT has announced a 2% increase in the price of milk in Mato Grosso, effective July 2026. This price adjustment was detailed in a bulletin released on Thursday, June 23, 2026. The entity, which determines the reference prices for raw materials in the state, follows specific statutes in setting these prices.
The bulletin highlighted the comparison between two periods: milk delivered in May 2026, which was paid for in June 2026, and milk delivered in June 2026, with payment scheduled for July 2026. The latter period will reflect the 2% price increase.
This increase is uniform across all reference categories, each defined by a combination of delivered volume and milk quality parameters. This structured approach ensures that the price adjustment is consistent throughout the sector.
A critical consideration for rural producers is the calculation method employed. Reference values are established on a 'post-property' basis, meaning transportation costs are not deducted from the producer's payment. However, the Funrural tax, set at 1.5%, is included in the reference values and continues to be deducted from the payment to rural producers.
The Conseleite-MT's role in setting these prices aims to provide a transparent and predictable framework for dairy producers in the region, aligning with industry standards and statutory requirements.
