Lactalis Sets €200m Spanish Investment Plan Through 2030

Lactalis has announced a five-year investment programme for its Spanish business, with spending scheduled from 2026 to 2030. The €200 million plan covers the modernisation of its factories, industrial innovation, efficiency improvements and measures related to the energy transition.

The Spanish subsidiary ended 2025 with revenue of €1.705 billion, an increase of 1.7% from the previous year. Its operations include eight industrial sites located across five Spanish regions. The network is linked to the country’s milk-producing areas and supports activities ranging from the collection of raw milk to the manufacture and sale of dairy products.

Lactalis works with 1,405 farms and gathers 963 million litres of milk each year. The company has 2,679 employees in Spain. Its planned investment comes as European dairy companies respond to changing consumption patterns, demand for functional products and foods with higher nutritional value, and sustainability-related requirements.

The group’s Spanish portfolio includes Puleva, Flor de Esgueva, El Ventero, Gran Capitán, Président, Galbani, RAM, Lauki and Chufi. Products sold through the Lactalis Nestlé business include La Lechera, Yogures Nestlé and Nestlé Kéfir. Lactalis also manufactures products for other companies and participates in the private-label market.

David Saliot has led Lactalis’s Spain and Portugal operations since May 2025. He has worked for the group for more than 25 years and is responsible for the Iberian structure created under the “One Iberia” project. The arrangement coordinates resources in technology, industry, purchasing and quality while preserving the two countries’ commercial and operational structures.

Lactalis has also expanded in Portugal through acquisitions. In 2024 it bought Sequeira & Sequeira, the owner of the Paiva brand. In 2025 it announced the acquisition of Queijos Tavares; the transaction was subject to approval by the competition authorities, according to the source. The Spanish investment programme and the Portuguese acquisitions form part of the group’s operations across the Iberian dairy market.
