Kuwait Dairy Company, known as KDCow, has been named the recipient of His Highness the Amir’s Award for Industrial Excellence 2025 in the Food and Pharmaceutical Industries Sector. The recognition covers the company’s work in industrial performance, innovation and ongoing improvement.

The award is in its seventh edition and is intended to encourage Kuwaiti industrial establishments to apply recognised practices, develop their capabilities and improve their competitiveness and sustainable growth. The Public Authority for Industry organised the programme.

Applicants were evaluated across eight areas based on the United States’ Baldrige Performance Excellence Model. The assessment covered leadership, strategy, customer relations, the workforce, operations, environmental management and sustainability, data and knowledge management, digital transformation, and organisational results.

KDCow said the result reflected contributions from employees across the business. The company identified operational efficiency, customer experience, capability-building, and investment in innovation and product development among its areas of focus.

Khaled Yousef Al-Hajeri, KDCow’s chief executive, said the award belonged to the company’s employees and credited their work to improve operations and customer service. He said preparing for the assessment had allowed the company to compare its performance with international standards and identify both strengths and areas requiring further work. “Winning the Award is therefore not an end point for KDCow. It sets a higher benchmark for what comes next,” he said.

Al-Hajeri said KDCow was Kuwait’s largest producer of fresh milk and that its performance was relevant to the country’s food security. He said the company planned to expand local fresh-milk capacity, strengthen production capabilities and launch products for changing consumer preferences in Kuwait. KDCow said it aimed to become the country’s first choice for dairy products.

KDCow has operated in Kuwait’s dairy industry for more than six decades. It produces fresh milk locally and sells a broad range of dairy products. The company said it was continuing to invest in manufacturing, operational efficiency, product development and innovation, while thanking the Amir, the Public Authority for Industry and its board of directors for their support.
