China Increases Import of Russian Oilcakes and Meals by 2.3 Times

The increase in imports covers all major types of oilcake products.
According to Chinese statistics, the supplies were distributed as follows:
-
Sunflower seed oilcakes and meals — 355,000 tons
-
Low erucic acid rapeseed oilcakes and meals — 282,000 tons
-
Soybean oilcakes and meals — 13,000 tons
-
Regular rapeseed oilcakes and meals — 8,000 tons.
With the growth in supplies, Russia has risen to the third place among exporters of oilcakes and meals to China, trailing only:
-
Canada — 949,000 tons,
-
Ukraine — over 1 million tons.
Experts note that the expansion of exports is linked to increased processing of oilseeds in Russia, a reorientation of flows after a reduction in supplies to Europe, and high demand from China for protein raw materials for animal feed.
According to analysts' forecasts, if the current pace continues, Russia may exceed an export volume of 1 million tons by the end of 2025, intensifying competition with Ukraine and Canada in the Chinese market.
