Kerry Reorganises Latin American Leadership, Naming Brazil and Southern Cone Heads

Kerry, an Irish multinational supplying flavour, nutrition and biotechnology solutions, has announced two leadership changes in Latin America. Eliane Cabral is taking charge of the Brazilian business as general manager, while Soledad Almeida is becoming the company’s commercial leader for the Southern Cone.

Cabral has more than 25 years of experience in the food and beverage industry. Her previous work has included strategic roles at global companies covering flavour, biotechnology, ingredients and dairy. In Brazil, she will oversee the implementation of Kerry’s strategy, advance commercial priorities and work more closely with customers and business partners.

Cabral said food and beverage companies were operating in a period of change as consumers placed greater emphasis on health, wellbeing and convenience while continuing to seek flavour and adopting new eating habits. She said Kerry’s role was to help develop better products by combining science-based innovation, execution and positive effects for people and the planet.

She also identified Brazil as a market with potential to expand sustainable nutrition at scale. According to Cabral, Kerry’s portfolio combines flavour, nutrition and biotechnology solutions with the capabilities of technical teams, allowing the company to address changing consumer requirements.

Almeida has worked at Kerry for 18 years. Before taking her new regional position, she held roles in marketing, finance, flavour, Latin American strategy and biotechnology solutions for Latin America. Her responsibilities will include speeding up commercial execution, strengthening customer relationships and developing new business opportunities across the Southern Cone.

The appointments are linked to Kerry’s global Beyond the Horizon strategy. The programme sets a target of reaching more than 2bn people with sustainable nutrition solutions by 2030. Kerry says its products currently affect 1.46bn people worldwide through food intended to be more balanced, accessible, enjoyable and less damaging to the environment.

In Brazil, the company says 98% of its production processes have already moved to more sustainable energy sources. Kerry has operated in Latin America for more than 30 years and employs more than 1,100 food scientists globally. It supplies solutions to the food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries.
