Kerry Dairy Ireland Announces May Milk Price

Kerry Dairy Ireland has announced its milk price for May supplies, setting the rate at 50.03c/L inclusive of VAT, with additional quality and sustainability bonuses. At European Union standard constituents of 3.4% protein and 4.2% butterfat, the price reaches 54.66c/L including VAT.
The company's average for May, factoring in the typical milk solids, results in a price return of 52.75c/L. Previously, the April price stood at 50.43c/L.
In its communications, Kerry Dairy Ireland indicated that global milk production is on the rise this year, potentially sustaining similar growth trends in the near future. Although strong demand has stabilized the market, increasing commodity prices are beginning to show in retail, which might challenge consumer demand.
Other dairy businesses have also made adjustments to their prices: Dairygold reduced its May quoted milk price by 1c/L to 49c/L for standard constituents, reflecting a drop from April's average monthly price of 54.6c/L to 53.4c/L. Lakeland Dairies announced pricing of 49.25c/L in the Republic of Ireland and 40.3p/L in Northern Ireland, both including a 5c/L or 5p/L unconditional bonus.
