Kerala's government resists the market entry of Karnataka's Nandini milk brand amid competition concerns.

The Kerala government recently communicated with the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) to address the conflict between Milma and Nandini milk brands in the state. Kerala's Minister for Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Milk Cooperatives, J Chinchurani, stated that the state opposes the entry of Nandini, a Karnataka-based milk brand, into its market. Kerala officials are particularly concerned about Nandini potentially selling milk at prices lower than Milma, which they claim disrupts market stability and cooperative principles. Kerala expects the NDDB to mediate the situation and hopes the central government will intervene to prevent Nandini's market entry without the necessary permissions from the state.
