The funds are designated by the Comprehensive Plan for the Development of Animal Husbandry. Its main directions include upgrading breeding livestock and improving farm productivity through enhanced herd genetics. The purchased animals are planned to be distributed among developing livestock enterprises.

In 2026, Kazakhstan already imported 7,234 heads of cattle from distant foreign countries. The overall purchase plan includes 40,000 cattle heads and 20,000 small ruminants. The program covers dairy and meat livestock farming.

Holstein Deliveries to Regions

In the Turkistan Region, the dairy farm "Asia Milk" received a new batch of 165 Holstein heifers from Denmark. With the previous delivery, the number of animals imported by this farm reached 330 heads. The farms "Maylken Ferm" and "Dar Organik" previously received an additional 165 Holsteins each from Denmark, bringing the total for the three enterprises in the region to 660 animals of this breed.

In the North Kazakhstan Region, the "Budennoe SK" dairy complex received 165 Holstein heifers from Germany. This was the fifth delivery, following which the number of imported animals reached 825 heads. The enterprise plans to increase the imported herd to 1,200 heads.

The "Budennoe SK" complex was built in the fall of 2025. In 2026, the first animals started arriving, and in March the farm received its first calves. Upon completion of the deliveries, the enterprise aims to fully staff the complex with imported livestock.

Farms and Feed Base

The "Moyyldy-Baikonur" dairy farm in the East Kazakhstan Region received 224 Holstein heifers from Perm Krai, Russia. The site is designed to house 1,075 cattle heads. The enterprise has more than 4,500 hectares of arable land for feed production, as well as agricultural machinery and equipment.

The published materials consider the procurement of breeding animals as part of the production chain that includes feeding, veterinary care, herd reproduction, and the use of dairy complexes. Previously, Kazakhstan financed 97 projects for the construction and modernization of dairy farms with an estimated total capacity of nearly 560,000 tons of milk per year.
