Kazakhstan Showcases Largest Foreign Agricultural Exhibition in China
Kazakhstan showcased its export potential at the 8th China Grain Trade Conference and the concurrent 6th National Exhibition and Fair of High-Quality Specialized Grain and Oil Products. The Kazakhstani exhibition features more than 20 companies, including the Food Contract Corporation, the National Association of Oilseed Processors, SN Trade Company, Asia Agro Food, Atameken Agro Trade, and Baltic Control Kazakhstan.
In the period from January to June 2026, Kazakhstani agro-industrial complex supplies to the Chinese market reached $1.1 billion. This is almost double the figure for the same period of the previous year and close to the total export volume for 2025. Last year, Kazakhstan supplied agricultural products worth approximately $1.4 billion to China, which is 6.5 times the level of 2021.
The main categories of supplies remain animal feed, vegetable oils, oilseeds, and grains. Kazakhstan also expressed interest in increasing exports of flour and more deeply processed products, rather than just increasing the physical volumes of grain exports.
One of the discussed tools was the Chinese digital grain trading platform. It has been operating for over 20 years and connects about 50,000 agricultural enterprises in China, allowing sellers and buyers to make direct deals. The Kazakhstani section of the platform was launched in a pilot mode; the first agreement was a test delivery of 200 tons of oilseed flax to a Chinese company.
At the conference, representatives of the two countries also discussed cross-border logistics, agricultural raw material processing, investments, trade digitalization, and sustainable transport chains. Vice Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan Nazgul Khatepova called China one of the key markets and partners of the country in trade, investment, logistics, and processing.
"Grain trade is of strategic importance for ensuring the stability of regional food markets," Khatepova said. According to her, Kazakhstan is interested in expanding supplies of grain, flour, oilseeds, and deeply processed products, as well as in developing direct links between companies of the two countries. Negotiations between producers and buyers, investment sessions, grain trading, and the signing of commercial agreements are taking place at the venue.
Following the conference, the parties confirmed their intention to continue working on mutual trade conditions, export logistics, agricultural raw material processing, and direct enterprise interaction.
