Kazakhstan and the Czech Republic Expand Agricultural Cooperation

The prospects for collaboration were discussed by the Vice Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, Ermek Kenzhekhanuly, and the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Czech Republic, Jaroslava Spalkova. The parties considered increasing mutual supplies, cooperation in livestock and crop production, as well as veterinary and phytosanitary safety issues.

The Kazakh side linked the further development of the partnership with the possibility of strengthening its agricultural products' positions in the European market. Among the identified tasks are the expansion of direct business contacts, an increase in the range of exports, and compliance with European quality and safety standards.

Jaroslava Spalkova identified livestock breeding, aquaculture, and the production of organic products as priorities for Czech agriculture. The participants also discussed the diversification of the commodity structure and growth in supply volumes between the countries.

Among the promising areas of cooperation, the parties highlighted the export of purebred cattle and the semen of high-value breeding bulls. Furthermore, discussions included improving selective breeding activities, developing artificial insemination, and exchanging experiences in herd reproduction.

A separate chapter of the negotiations covered quarantine, plant protection, digitalization, and automation of sector-specific processes. The exchange of technological solutions and practical experience was identified as a direction for improving the control over the phytosanitary condition of products and related procedures.

As a result of the meeting, Kazakhstan and the Czech Republic confirmed their interest in further developing partnerships in the agro-industrial sector. They also expressed their intention to expand trade and economic ties, develop livestock breeding, and introduce modern agrotechnologies.
