InvestIndustrial acquires majority stake in Spanish ice cream maker Grupo Alacant
Founded in 1972 in Alicante by a group of more than 30 ice cream producers, Grupo Alacant specializes in private label production for retail chains, as well as contract manufacturing for leading ice cream brands.
The company offers a wide range of products, including: ice cream in containers, cones, popsicles, sandwiches and portion packs, ice cream in bulk.
In 2024, Grupo Alacant recorded revenues of €225 million. The company's production facilities include four plants in Alicante, Murcia and Madrid, and employs around 850 people.
The deal with InvestIndustrial will be a key step for the company, as it will allow it to strengthen its position in the Spanish market and strengthen its production capacity through a significant investment. In addition, Grupo Alacant plans to actively pursue international expansion, both organically and through M&A, with the goal of becoming one of the leading independent private label ice cream producers in Europe.
