In a recent interview with Gulf Times, Ambassador Hassan highlighted ongoing collaborations with Baladna, Qatar's leading dairy producer. Two Indonesian companies have already signed memoranda of understanding (MoU) with Baladna, marking significant progress in fostering partnerships. These agreements, as reported by Qatar News Agency (QNA), aim to enhance cooperation, information exchange, and experience sharing to develop dairy farming initiatives in Indonesia. The ultimate goal is to strengthen Indonesia's agricultural and livestock industries, reducing reliance on food imports and bolstering food security through a robust livestock breeding infrastructure.

Baladna's global expansion efforts include similar agreements with companies in the Philippines and Malaysia, aligning with its commitment to enhance worldwide food security.

Ambassador Hassan assured Qatar of Indonesia's support for its food security strategy, highlighting the ongoing cooperation with regional neighbors and other nations through the export of various commodities. Indonesia stands as a major fruit exporter to countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, and China.

In terms of trade between Qatar and Indonesia, data from the Indonesian embassy in Doha reveals that the figures reached $975.3 million in the first half of 2023. Indonesia's exports to Qatar during this period amounted to $368.7 million, while imports stood at $606.7 million, underscoring the robust economic ties between the two nations.
