Hyderabad Authorities Fine Milk Shops and Seal LPG Outlets
Assistant Commissioner City Saima Noor inspected shops in Hyderabad on the instructions of the city’s Deputy Commissioner. The operation covered compliance with officially determined milk prices and checks on the handling and sale of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
Three retailers were fined Rs30,000 apiece for selling milk above the rates fixed by the government. The penalised businesses were Nagori Milk Shop and Gulab Dairy, both at Allah Wala Chowk in Hirabad, and a shop belonging to Javed Nagori in Chotki Ghitti.
The administration’s action followed inspections of commercial premises in several parts of the city. During the visits, officials also told members of the public about the prescribed prices for milk. The handout did not specify the approved price levels or the amounts allegedly charged by the retailers.
The inspection also addressed LPG decanting, referring to the unauthorised transfer or refilling of gas. Officials took action against outlets accused of engaging in that practice and against sellers charging prices described by the administration as excessive.
Two LPG shops were sealed during the operation. One was located in Pathan Colony and the other in Hirabad. The handout did not identify the businesses by name or provide details of the quantities of LPG involved.
Legal proceedings were started against those held responsible for the LPG-related violations. The statement attributed the inspections and enforcement measures to the city administration and said they were carried out under the direction of Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad.
