Grupo Lala Climbs the Ranks in ESG Responsonsibility
Grupo Lala has distinguished itself by securing the 13th spot among Mexico's most responsible companies, according to the Merco (Monitor Empresarial de Reputación Corporativa) rankings. This recognition considers the company's efforts in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria, marking a significant advancement of 16 positions from the previous year.
Through its ongoing initiatives, Grupo Lala has excelled in various areas. The company's commitment to environmental sustainability is reflected in its ranking among the top 10 companies, while its social commitment places it within the top 11.
Environmental Initiatives and Achievements
As part of its sustainability strategy, Grupo Lala implemented over 1,120 solar modules at its Aguascalientes plant last year, achieving an annual reduction of up to 425 tons of CO2 emissions. Additionally, the company added 101 electric vehicles to its fleet, comprising 30 delivery trucks and 71 utility vehicles, aiming to cut down its carbon footprint by up to 915 tons annually.

In its social endeavors, Fundación Lala is actively working to ensure food security within vulnerable communities, bolstering its position among the top companies for social responsibility.
Merco’s ESG responsibility ranking utilizes a comprehensive methodology evaluating reports from over 10 distinct sources. These sources include business executives, journalists, government officials, Corporate Social Responsibility experts, and financial analysts.
