GlobalDairyTrade raised its price index by 2.3%
GlobalDairyTrade’s auction No. 410 took place on August 18 and produced a 2.3% rise in the platform’s overall price index. The New Zealand-based marketplace is used as a reference point in international dairy commodity trading, including commercial contracts and bilateral price negotiations.
The average successful bid reached $3,873 per metric ton. The result reflected transactions across several dairy categories offered through the platform and provided a pricing reference for dairy industries in major exporting countries.
A total of 176 bidders took part in the auction, with 130 securing at least one transaction. Bidding was conducted over 18 successive rounds and lasted two hours and 56 minutes. The format enabled participants to revise their offers during the session in response to movements in prices and changes in product availability.
Available supply varied from 36,340 metric tons at its lowest point to 43,585 metric tons at its highest. The final traded quantity was 41,054 metric tons, placing the completed volume near the upper end of the reported supply range.
The auction result formed part of a sequence in which international dairy prices had shown relative stability with an upward direction. The source identified Southern Hemisphere seasonal supply, demand in Asia and worldwide production costs as factors affecting market conditions.
GlobalDairyTrade’s auction outcomes are used by producers, exporters and processors when assessing prices for dairy products. Auction No. 410 added a further data point to that benchmark series, alongside its reported index movement, winning price, participation figures and traded volume.
