FeedMatch Group launches buyer-first animal-feed procurement platform

FeedMatch Group, an independent business-to-business sourcing and procurement platform owned by Global B2B Group, has launched a service for commercial animal-feed procurement. The platform is intended for buyers in poultry, livestock and aquaculture, as well as companies seeking feed-production solutions.

The launch follows data from the 2026 Alltech Agri-Food Outlook, which estimated global feed production at 1.44bn metric tonnes in 2025. That figure was 2.9% higher than in 2024. The survey covered 142 countries and 38,837 feed mills.

A requirements-led process

FeedMatch asks buyers to submit details such as the animal category, production stage, required quantity, nutritional or technical specifications, packaging, destination, Incoterms, certifications, delivery timetable and commercial objectives. Its procurement team reviews the information and turns it into a structured request for quotation that is not tied to a particular supplier.

Supplier research begins after the requirement has been assessed. The company says its process does not depend exclusively on automated matching or automatic distribution of requests. Human review and the identification of relevant independent suppliers remain part of the service.

Products and planning tools

The platform covers protein and energy ingredients, specialist additives, functional ingredients, premixes, poultry feed, livestock feed, aquaculture feed and custom feed made to buyer-approved specifications. It also addresses feed-processing and production requirements.

Browser-based calculators are available for procurement planning. They can help estimate annual feed demand, feed and landed costs, feed-conversion ratios, supplier-cost comparisons, purchasing volumes, and feed-mill capacity and cost considerations. FeedMatch describes the outputs as indicative planning estimates rather than supplier quotations or nutritional advice. Qualified professionals and manufacturers retain responsibility for formulations, nutrient targets and feed-safety decisions.

After suppliers respond, FeedMatch can arrange offers using criteria including specifications, prices per unit, minimum order quantities, packaging, certifications, Incoterms, lead times and payment conditions. The company does not manufacture, formulate, certify or store feed, and does not take ownership of the products. It also does not guarantee supply, prices, nutritional performance or supplier acceptance.

Final technical approval, supplier choice and contracting remain with the buyer and the relevant supplier. Anna Morgan of FeedMatch Group’s media and communications team said commercial buyers need a clearer method for defining requirements, assessing viable supply options and progressing towards purchasing decisions instead of working through extensive supplier catalogues.

FeedMatch Group is part of Global B2B Group, whose other specialised procurement platforms include HatchMatch for poultry and hatchery projects, FishMatch for aquaculture, SeedMatch for agricultural production and technologies, and ColdMatch for industrial refrigeration and cold-chain projects.
