Criminal organizations are not only advancing in extortion, theft, and illegal trafficking of goods, people, and animals, but they have also found ways to siphon off cow's milk.

David Saucedo, a security specialist, highlights how these groups even manage to sell adulterated milk to companies like Liconsa.

This illegal trade, particularly prevalent in dairy-producing regions, involves tampering with production and purchase inventories.

Although this issue hasn't predominantly affected Veracruz, measures are being implemented to counter related crimes like livestock theft. Urban areas such as Irapuato and León have recorded arrests of gang members substituting milk with water and funneling it back into the market illegally.

The battle against dairy huachicol reveals organized networks dedicated to milk diversion and necessitates increased rural surveillance and operations.

Meanwhile, despite a downward trend in livestock thefts in Veracruz, security measures have been reinforced to combat these crimes.
