Giørtz-Carlsen, a seasoned executive with a track record in business transformation, steps into the role with an extensive background in strategic leadership and a focus on sustainable growth within the agricultural and dairy sectors.

Leadership and Strategic Vision
Giørtz-Carlsen has been pivotal in Arla Foods' executive team, driving the company's transformation and green transition strategies while generating value for farmers. His leadership extends beyond Arla, with roles including Vice-Chair of the European Dairy Association, Vice-Chair of Toms Group, and participation in a prominent CEO forum in the UK food industry. His deep experience in aligning corporate strategy with sustainable development aligns with DLG’s long-term vision.

DLG Group’s Board Chairman, Niels Dengsø Jensen, praised Giørtz-Carlsen’s appointment, stating, “Peter Giørtz-Carlsen’s proven expertise in business transformation and his strategic insight make him an ideal leader for DLG. His ability to foster competitiveness and steer sustainable business development is exactly what we need as we advance our goals of delivering value in the green transition for our owners and customers.”

Jensen added, “Peter’s understanding of cooperative principles and his commitment to agricultural progress will greatly benefit DLG. His leadership style, rooted in collaboration and results-oriented strategies, will support our cross-border ambitions.”

Leadership Transition at DLG
Giørtz-Carlsen succeeds Kristian Hundebøll, who stepped down on August 31. Interim Group CEO Jesper Pagh will continue in his role until Giørtz-Carlsen’s arrival and will depart DLG in early 2025 to pursue new opportunities, while maintaining board positions within the company.

DLG’s selection of Giørtz-Carlsen signals its commitment to strategic growth and a sustainable future, led by an executive with a proven record of advancing cooperative and green initiatives within the agricultural sector.
