Danone plans to expand production in Kazakhstan in 2025
For the first eight months of 2024, trade turnover in the agricultural sector between Kazakhstan and France reached $67 million, with Kazakhstan's exports to France increasing almost sixfold due to the growth in rapeseed seed shipments.
Regarding Danone's production in Kazakhstan, the French plant produces more than 50 types of fermented dairy products in the country, 40% of which are exported to Central Asia, the Caucasus, and Mongolia. In 2025, the installation of a new production line worth 730 million tenge in Kazakhstan is planned.
The parties also discussed changes in veterinary requirements for the export of small ruminants and the implementation of a project to improve Kazakh breeds using artificial insemination and French cattle semen. The project is being implemented in partnership with the French company Synetics and JSC "Asyl-Tүlik."
In addition, the project for localizing the production of seeds by the French company Limagrain was discussed, the agency noted.
The issue of exporting Kazakh horse meat to France was also discussed.
