Dairy Farmers of America (DFA) has unveiled Milk50 by DairyPure, a pioneering dairy milk that delivers only 50 calories per serving while containing 75% less sugar than traditional fat-free skim milk. This innovative, lactose-free product is designed to meet the demands of health-conscious consumers without sacrificing the essential nutritional benefits of real dairy milk.
Dairy Farmers of America Launches Milk50: A Breakthrough in Low-Calorie Dairy Innovation

Milk50 retains all key nutrients found in conventional dairy milk, including a robust 9 grams of protein per serving—far exceeding the protein content of most plant-based alternatives. Available in original, chocolate, and vanilla flavors, Milk50 achieves its low-calorie profile through an advanced ultra-filtration process that effectively reduces sugar levels while preserving the milk’s natural protein content. A touch of allulose, a low-calorie sweetener with only 10% of the calories of regular sugar, is added to maintain an ideal taste profile.

“Milk50 is revolutionizing the dairy aisle with real dairy milk that addresses the top concerns of health-conscious consumers – calories and sugar,” said Rachel Kyllo, Chief Marketing Officer of Dairy Brands at DFA. “While some people switched to plant-based alternatives seeking lower calories, they've been forced to compromise on both taste and nutrition. Now they don't have to settle for less.”

With a suggested retail price of $4.49 for a 48-ounce plastic bottle, Milk50 is set to hit shelves at Target stores nationwide as well as select West Coast retailers, including Walmart, Albertsons, and Stater Bros. Markets. The product not only offers an excellent source of calcium (20% Daily Value), vitamin D (10%), and vitamin A (15%) but also addresses the nutritional shortcomings commonly found in plant-based beverages.

The launch of Milk50 coincides with a broader cultural shift as consumers in the United States begin to rediscover the benefits of dairy milk over plant-based options, a trend bolstered by new national studies showing that 58% of U.S. adults are returning to dairy after being disappointed by the taste, price, and heavy processing of alternative beverages.

DFA’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and quality is further underscored by Milk50’s state-of-the-art production process. As a farmer-owned cooperative dedicated to supporting over 10,000 farmer-owners, DFA continues to set industry standards with products that combine traditional dairy excellence with modern nutritional science.
