Nestlé México, through CARNATION, is launching a water regeneration pilot project with Toroto in the Lerma-Santiago basin, aiming to restore 85,000 m³ of water annually by employing nature-based solutions. From 2025 to 2026, the project will enhance water infiltration techniques during the rainy season using methods such as 'Ripeo' for soil infiltration improvement and 'Bordos y Barreras de Piedra' for rainwater storage.
The collaboration will impact communities like La Zorra, La Peñuela, and Peña Colorada, supporting the National Plan for Water Rights and mitigating climate effects. Christian Boucaud of Nestlé México emphasizes their commitment to sustainable water management, enhancing operations while involving local communities.
