Carbery Group Maintains Base Milk Price for February
Carbery Group has announced that its base milk price for February supplies will remain consistent with last month. In collaboration with the four west Cork co-ops—Bandon, Barryroe, Drinagh, and Lisavaird—this results in an average milk price of 53.57c/L, inclusive of VAT. This pricing includes a 0.88cpl somatic cell count bonus, and a FutureProof sustainability bonus.
The FutureProof bonus for 2025 will increase by 0.25c/L to 1.25c/L, reflecting Carbery's commitment to sustainability. A spokesperson highlighted uneven global demand: butter prices remain high, while cheese faces slight pressure. "We continue to monitor markets for signs of recovery and opportunities for price optimisation," stated the spokesperson.
Carbery's announcement aligns with similar pricing news from Dairygold and Tirlán. Tirlán will pay a total of 56.08c/L for February creamery supplies after including a 5c/L seasonality payment. Meanwhile, Dairygold's milk price remains unchanged at 50c/L, with an early calving bonus raising the price to 55.26c/L.
Global dairy markets remain stable with the Global Dairy Trade index standing at 1,251, translating to an average dairy product price of €3,888/mt at a conversion rate of roughly 91.6c per US dollar.
