Cantabria Distributes €879,633 in Aid to 818 Dairy Farms

The Government of Cantabria has initiated the payment of €879,633 as the final installment of aid for sustainable cow's milk production, reaching 818 farms. "Once the management of this aid is complete, a total of €8.7 million will have been paid," stated the regional government in a press release.
This financial support is aimed at dairy farm owners involved in milk production or mixed production for at least six months. The regional councilor, María Jesús Susinos, emphasized that the sustainable milk production aid, like all associated livestock subsidies, targets a "vulnerable" sector with "compromised competitiveness." She added that these aids aim to "ensure the competitiveness and sustainability of these operations and reduce the risk of abandoning this productive activity."
