Arla Foods to Invest €50.9 Million in Bahrain Cheese Factory
Arla Foods has unveiled plans to invest €50.9 million into its cheese factory located in Bahrain. This financial commitment will boost production capacity by approximately 30%, enhancing both production facilities and warehouse capabilities. The initiative will not only create 20 new jobs but also reduce carbon emissions by incorporating solar panels on the roof and updating the cooling systems.

Construction is expected to begin by the end of 2025. The factory, known for producing spreadable cheese under the brand name Puck, serves the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) regions. Arla Foods, recognizing peak demand periods like Ramadan and the back-to-school season, aims to maintain its customer favorability through this expansion. Lillie Li Valeur, International Executive Vice President, highlighted the strategic nature of the investment due to rising demand and Arla's robust financial position. Since acquiring the Bahrain site in 2019, Arla Foods continues to focus on consumer trust and sustainable food habits in the MENA region.
