Arla Foods Celebrates 25 Years of Successful Merger

This year (2025), Arla Foods celebrates 25 years since the merger between the Swedish cooperative, Arla, and the Danish cooperative, MD Foods, forming a cross-border, farmer-owned dairy cooperative. In the first half of 2025, Arla Foods achieved results "in line with expectations" despite a volatile market, generating a net profit of €158 million and a revenue of €7.5 billion. The performance price stood at 57.5c/kg.

CEO Peder Tuborgh remarked on Arla's ability to maintain solid performance in a challenging environment, highlighting the cooperative model’s strength and the dedication of its farmer-owners and colleagues.

Despite geopolitical uncertainty and heightened dairy commodity prices leading to a 1.5% decline in branded product sales volumes, the company's ingredients business saw "exceptional" results, fueled by the successful integration of Volac Whey Nutrition.

Arla Foods has committed to future investments, expecting full-year investments to range between €650–€700 million, excluding mergers and acquisitions, to enhance production and supply capabilities for food security.
