AqAltyn is an annual congress that brings together key players in the dairy industry from Kazakhstan and Central Asia. It serves as a meeting point for farmers, processors, solution providers, investors, and experts to discuss the future, exchange experiences, and build partnerships.
AqAltyn 2025: New Location — New Opportunities

After two vibrant years in Turkistan, the AqAltyn Dairy Congress is relocating to Shymkent — a hub of real production, active logistics, and dynamic agricultural life. This move marks a significant step forward, reflecting the growth of the event itself and the development of the region.

Shymkent is Kazakhstan’s third-largest city and a major business and agri-industrial center. Conveniently located near the borders of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, it has a high concentration of farms and processing facilities within a 150 km radius, making it a natural gathering point for the professional community.

In December 2024, Shymkent opened a new international airport terminal, significantly expanding its flight geography. Regular flights now connect the city to Moscow, St. Petersburg, Minsk, Istanbul, Dubai, Baku, Almaty, and Astana, making it convenient for both domestic and international guests to attend the congress.

The region itself is experiencing rapid growth. Since 2022, the population of Shymkent and the Turkistan Region has increased by 18.65%, the highest growth rate in the country.

In the past two years, milk production in agricultural enterprises in the Turkistan Region has grown by 87.15%, second only to the North Kazakhstan Region. Meanwhile, the region leads in total cattle population (including household farms). However, it remains a milk-deficit area, highlighting the importance of processing, technology adoption, and cooperation.

Over the past two years, AqAltyn has built a strong industry community. Participants include leading processors, producers, and farms such as Borte Milka, JLC Sut, Shyn-Line, Agro Nur Asia, BTI-Sut (Kyrgyzstan), Astana-Önim, Ümit Produkt, Nätizhe, Ayala Plus, RZA Sut, Danone, R'N'R GROUP, JEMISTI FOOD, Zheti Laq Goat Farm, RM-Agro (Russia), Otyrar Agro Camel Farm, Olzha Agro Holding, and many more.

Among the speakers at AqAltyn 2024 was Bekgali Ashirbekov, CEO of Borte Engineering, which returns in 2025 as the event's General Partner. In an interview, he emphasized the importance of industry-specific events and stated: “Our goal is to provide high-quality equipment at affordable prices.”

According to Mr. Ashirbekov, participating in AqAltyn offers not only the chance to showcase real technological solutions but also to establish strong market connections, shape strategy, and drive systemic change in the region’s agribusiness sector. “We are actively working with several Central Asian countries, including Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and others. We use a variety of channels to enter these markets — including specialized events and conferences like AqAltyn, organized by the DairyNews.today information agency. These platforms help us promote our products internationally and build new business connections.”

In 2024, the congress focused not only on global challenges facing the dairy market, but also on Kazakhstan’s role in the global system of milk production and consumption. Discussions included the impact of world prices on local processing, retail experience and demand dynamics, and the potential of modular dairy plants to overcome infrastructure constraints in the region.

Topics such as camel, goat, and sheep milk, and pasture-based livestock practices, generated strong interest. Farm automation — from milking to feeding — was also a key subject. Altogether, these discussions created a rich, multi-layered professional environment, offering participants practical tools for business development.
A full recap of last year’s program is available on the official website.

Shymkent is a city with character, history, and culture. It retains its Eastern charm while offering modern infrastructure for business events. In 2025, AqAltyn will take on a new dimension here: we will expand the business agenda, strengthen the international focus, present best-case practices, and provide even more opportunities for interaction and growth.

At the same time, we will maintain our connection with Turkistan. The AqAltyn 2025 program includes an excursion that will introduce participants to the region’s enterprises and cultural heritage.

AqAltyn remains more than just a conference. It is a platform for growth, a convergence point for knowledge, technology, and people.
In 2025, we will meet in Shymkent — a city of opportunity, dialogue, and development.
