Ahome dairy producers are ready to join Mexico's plan under Claudia Sheinbaum to increase national production of basic foods, including milk.

Ahome's dairy producers are set to join the "Mexico Plan" spearheaded by President Claudia Sheinbaum, aiming to boost the production of staple foods like milk. The plan includes selling milk to Liconsa at a guaranteed price of $11.50 per liter.
In Sinaloa, two collection centers are planned for reactivation—one in Mazatlán and another in Ahome. The rehabilitation of these centers is at 90% completion, according to Tirso Robles Camargo, president of the Local Livestock Union of Ahome. “We've conducted a technical assessment. The sheets are damaged, the cooling tank is obsolete, and new units need to be purchased.
But with governmental support, we could start in a month and a half,” he stated. This scheme will benefit active producers directly, leaving those who are no longer active out of the loop.
Support is also being requested to cope with the drought, especially regarding water supplies to stimulate milk production when the Ahome collection center is refurbished.
