Adopt a Dairy Cow Initiative Supports Wisconsin Food Pantries

With the start of June Dairy Month, the Adopt a Dairy Cow initiative has been relaunched to ensure that food pantries in Southern Wisconsin have an adequate supply of milk. This initiative, spearheaded by the Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin, encourages participants to symbolically adopt dairy cows through the program's website.

Since its inception, the program has successfully facilitated the donation of 300,000 gallons of milk. Participants in the initiative can choose the quantity of milk they wish to donate, with options available in half-gallon increments. The milk collected through this program is distributed to various food pantries and partners across the region.

Donors receive a certificate of adoption and a complimentary ice cream scoop coupon from Sassy Cow Creamery, located in Columbus, Wisconsin.
