The a2 Milk Company (a2MC) has officially entered the Vietnamese market, offering a premium selection of six dairy products, including the a2 Platinum junior milk drink, nutrition for mothers, milk powders, and UHT long-life full-cream milk.
The expansion marks a strategic move for the company as it taps into Vietnam’s growing demand for high-quality nutrition.
In September, a2MC held a launch event in Hanoi for its a2 Platinum early life nutrition range in partnership with local retailers. The company also participated in the VietBaby Fair, a major trade fair held on September 26, where it showcased its products to a wider audience. The a2 Platinum range began appearing on retail shelves in late August, ahead of the trade fair.
The products introduced by a2MC are sourced from cows that naturally produce milk containing only the A2-type beta-casein protein, which distinguishes them from other milk products that also contain the A1 protein. This unique selling point is central to the company’s brand, offering milk that is free from artificial growth hormones and antibiotics.
Yohan Senaratne, international managing director for a2MC, highlighted Vietnam as a maturing market with increasing demand for products from reputable companies. He stated, “We will work closely with our distributors, retailers, and consumers to promote the unique benefits of A2-type beta-casein milk, ensuring that the advantages of our products are widely known.”
During the VietBaby Fair, Senaratne emphasized the company’s partnership with local distributor Live Well. Meanwhile, managing director and CEO David Bortolussi met with local distributors and officials, and chief science advisor Dr. Andrew Clarke hosted a seminar to discuss the health benefits of A1 protein-free milk.
“We are proud to bring our early life nutrition products and milk powders, made from New Zealand’s renowned dairy regions, to Vietnamese consumers,” Senaratne added. The launch event was attended by representatives from the New Zealand Embassy in Vietnam, alongside guest speakers from Vietnam’s National Institute of Nutrition.
a2MC’s strategic entry into Vietnam reflects the company’s continued commitment to expanding its presence in key international markets, with a focus on providing premium, health-focused dairy products.
