Unilever's revenue in the first quarter exceeded expectations: growth of 1.4%

Unilever, one of the world's leading suppliers of consumer goods, unexpectedly increased revenue by 1.4% in the first quarter.
As noted in the company's message, its turnover in January-March amounted to 15 billion euros. Analysts, whose forecasts are provided on the company's website, expected revenue to decrease to 14.661 billion euros. The growth in prices and volumes amounted to 2.2%, exceeding the consensus forecast (1.8% and 1.2%, respectively).
Unilever recorded sales growth in all product categories. Revenue from the sale of beauty and health products increased by 3.1%, personal care products - by 0.4%, household goods - by 0.8%, food products - by 1.1%, and in a separate segment of ice cream, which the company plans to allocate - by 2.7%.
The amount of the interim quarterly dividend remained unchanged at 0.4268 euros per share.
Unilever shares rose 5% in Amsterdam trading on Thursday, and 4.7% in London.
