Milk price in Kazakhstan increased by 1.8% compared to July last year

In July 2024, Kazakhstan recorded a decrease in prices for some types of crop products, while an increase in the cost of most livestock products was noted, the Bureau of National Statistics reports.
In July 2024, in the Kazakhstani livestock sector, prices for horses increased by 6.4%, for sheep - by 4.7%, cattle increased in price by 3.4%, and poultry - by 1.1%. The opposite trend is observed for pigs, for which the price decreased by 1.6%.
In addition, an increase in prices for dairy products was noted: the cost of milk increased by 1.8%, and eggs increased in price by 5.2%.
In July 2024, crop producers reduced prices by an average of 1.6% compared to the same period last year. The largest decrease was observed in the following categories: sunflower seeds fell in price by 16.4%, and safflower seeds - by 12.6%.
A noticeable price reduction also affected buckwheat (minus 11%), corn (minus 9.2%), lentils (minus 6.5%), barley (minus 6.5%) and rapeseed (minus 6.2%). The list of products with reduced prices also included onions (minus 4.6%), greenhouse tomatoes (minus 2.8%), potatoes (minus 2.7%), cabbage (minus 2.3%), oats (minus 1.2%) and peas (minus 0.8%). At the same time, a number of agricultural products saw price increases. In particular, rice increased in price by 7.9%, millet by 7.8%, carrots by 7.6%, beets by 4.6%, wheat by 2.7%, berries by 2.5%, and flax seeds by 1.2%.
