While Europe has taken steps to reduce antibiotic use in livestock, South-East Asia continues to make a widespread usage of it, resulting in the development of resistant strains in both animals and humans.

Meanwhile, South-East Asian markets have experienced significant disruptions in recent years - including animal diseases among which ASF and HPAI, low profitability due to high inputs costs combined with a weak demand, economic slowdown and consumers' cautiousness generated by Covid and inflation - to name a few.

Not only that, but the region is to be looked at on a country level as each SE-Asian market develops and evolves differently, sometime on opposite directions, mainly driven by diverse country policies, governments' agenda and geopolitics.

Learning how to navigate the vast amount of information to find the most professional and objective insights, while addressing individual needs, has become increasingly important.

... And I guess this is the reason why Lucie Prost and Michael Valduin Banawa, DVM, MBA have organized and invited me to speak at the Boehringer Ingelheim Swine Forum and Poultry ASKAN in Bangkok.
