As a result of 2024, the Russian Federation significantly strengthened its position in the global agricultural market, ranking third in terms of export volume of agricultural products by weight. This was reported by the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Oksana Lut, according to data from Agroexport, as cited by Dairynews.today.

The total volume of Russian agro-industrial product exports abroad increased by 5%, reaching 109 million tons. In monetary terms, exports exceeded $43 billion.
The key growth driver was grain exports, which reached a record 72 million tons. According to the data presented, every fourth shipment of wheat and every fifth shipment of barley to the global market was of Russian origin. The country maintains leading positions in the export of wheat, barley, frozen fish, as well as being among the top suppliers of sunflower and rapeseed oils, peas, and several other agricultural products.
Special attention is being paid to increasing supplies of high value-added products. Last year, their volume in monetary terms grew by 6%, with record volumes of sunflower oil and flour shipped abroad.
A strategic focus remains on reorienting exports toward friendly countries. While in 2021 such countries accounted for 73% of total exports, by the end of 2024 this share exceeded 90%. New markets in Africa, Asia, and the Persian Gulf are actively being developed. In particular, last year saw the first deliveries of beef to Iran, duck meat to China, and apple juice to India.
