More than Twice the Gap: Milk Prices in Kazakhstan Reach 880 Tenge per Liter
The most expensive milk in this category was recorded in Kyzylorda at 880 tenge per liter and Atyrau at 858 tenge. Meanwhile, the most affordable prices were noted in Taldykorgan (381 tenge), Pavlodar (415 tenge), and Kokshetau (417 tenge). Thus, the difference between the minimum and maximum cost reaches 2.3 times.
Milk with 3.2–4.5% fat content is most expensive in:
— Atyrau — 871 tenge per liter
— Aktau — 816 tenge
The lowest price was recorded in Uralsk at 437 tenge per liter.
The difference between the most expensive and the cheapest milk in this category is almost twofold.

Production and Import
Price increases are occurring against the backdrop of increased production and strengthening positions of domestic producers.
By the end of 2025, the production of processed liquid milk and cream in Kazakhstan reached 665.2 thousand tons, increasing by 7.1% over the year. In January 2026, production amounted to 53.8 thousand tons, which is 6.1% more than the same period last year.
Domestic producers met 95.1% of the total demand of the domestic market and export. Meanwhile, imports decreased by 4% to 34.2 thousand tons, while exports, on the contrary, almost doubled from 2.7 thousand to 5.1 thousand tons.
Prices
In January 2026, drinking milk rose in price by 0.4% compared to December and by 9.2% year on year.
However, the pace of price growth slowed compared to previous years. For comparison, in 2023, milk rose in price by 32.9%, in 2024 — by 14.4%, and in 2025 — by 6.9%.
