By the end of 2028, the government of Kazakhstan plans to phase out subsidies for meat, milk, and greenhouse vegetables, announced Deputy Prime Minister Serik Zhumangarin during a government meeting on September 3.
The official noted that these measures are outlined in the Decree "On the Liberalization of the Economy" and involve a full transition to a system of preferential lending.
Serik Zhumangarin emphasized that a Roadmap has already been approved to ensure a smooth transition from subsidizing farmers' remuneration rates to preferential lending. These steps are aimed at enhancing the economic independence of the agricultural sector and promoting long-term growth in the industry.
