These products were sold across the United States, including in Hawaiʻi at supermarkets such as Safeway and Whole Foods. The recall includes Abilyn’s Frozen Bakery ice cream cakes, Jeni’s frozen dessert sandwiches, and Marco ice cream sandwiches and pints. A complete list of recalled products is available on the U.S. FDA website: FDA Recall List.

Listeria monocytogenes can cause listeriosis, a serious and sometimes fatal infection, particularly dangerous for pregnant individuals, newborns, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems. Listeriosis can lead to miscarriages and stillbirths, and symptoms in healthy individuals may include fever, severe headache, muscle aches, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. Symptoms typically appear within several days of consuming contaminated food but can develop up to two months later. Listeriosis is treatable with antibiotics.

Residents who have consumed any of the recalled products and exhibit symptoms should contact their healthcare provider immediately. Currently, no illnesses or adverse events have been reported in connection with the recalled products.

The FDB advises consumers to check their purchases against the recalled product list and return any affected items to the place of purchase for a full refund. For more information, consumers can contact Totally Cool, Inc. at 410-363-7801 (2:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. HST, Monday through Friday) or via email at regulatory@totallycoolicecream.com.
