According to the latest findings from the China Dairy Industry Association and Royal FrieslandCampina, Gen Z consumers are particularly focused on the nutritional value, origins, and eco-friendly packaging of dairy products.

The report also highlighted that over 90% of Gen Z parents prioritize scientific feeding practices, with a keen interest in the nutritional makeup of infant formulas.

This year, the milk quotient of Chinese consumers reached 66.8 out of 100, the highest score since the inception of this metric. The milk quotient, developed in 2018, assesses consumer awareness, knowledge, and behavior towards dairy intake through industry research and expert consultations.

Following the latest Chinese Dietary Guidelines, adults in China are advised to consume 500 grams of milk or equivalent dairy products each day.

Song Kungang, the former chairman of the China Dairy Industry Association, remarked on the ongoing improvement of the milk quotient, stating, "The advancement in China’s scientific outreach has been fruitful, enhancing public understanding of the benefits of dairy consumption."

He further noted, "The influence of young consumers on dairy trends necessitates continuous innovation and improvement in product offerings and consumer experiences within the dairy industry."
