First Milk has confirmed a 1.5 pence per litre increase in its milk price, effective December 2024, bringing the UK cooperative’s manufacturing standard litre price to 45.35p per litre, inclusive of the member premium. This adjustment reflects First Milk’s commitment to supporting its approximately 700 member farming families amid ongoing cost pressures.
Mike Smith, Vice-Chairman of First Milk, commented on the decision: “This price increase is welcome news for our members who continue to face rising expenses in their operations. With dairy market prices holding strong and our cooperative delivering robust returns, we’re pleased to be able to enhance our milk price once again.”
This announcement follows Arla’s recent confirmation of its own November price increase, which applies to both conventional and organic milk, reflecting positive trends in the dairy market.
