Fast Food in Kazakhstan Costs More Than in Russia and South Korea

Public dining prices in Kazakhstan continue to rise: over the past year (February 2024 – February 2025), they have increased by 10.8%, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics. In particular, restaurant meal prices have risen by 9%, while fast food prices have surged by 12.7%.

According to an analysis by Numbeo, an average meal for two in a mid-range restaurant costs Kazakhstani residents 15,000 tenge, while a set meal or fast food dish costs 3,300 tenge per person.
Price Comparison in the Region
The analysis shows that Kazakhstani consumers spend more on fast food than residents of most neighboring countries:
Russia – 2,400 tenge
Belarus – 2,700 tenge
Kyrgyzstan – 2,800 tenge
Uzbekistan – 2,000 tenge
China – 2,400 tenge
The cost of a three-course dinner for two in Kazakhstan also remains high. While dining out is slightly more expensive in Russia (17,600 tenge) and Belarus (15,300 tenge), similar expenses are lower in other regional countries.
