Chile's national raw milk production increased by 3.2% in January 2025, reaching 214.4 million liters. The Los Lagos and Los Ríos regions lead dairy production, showing significant growth.

Chile has seen a robust start in 2025 in its dairy sector, with national raw milk production growing by 3.2% in January, compared to the same month the previous year.
This increase brings total production to 214.4 million liters, according to data from the National Federation of Milk Producers (Fedeleche) and the Office of Agricultural Studies and Policies (Odepa).
Notably, the Los Lagos and Los Ríos regions, which account for 84.4% of the industry’s major milk reception, have shown upward trends, while other dairy-producing areas present mixed results. The South Zone, particularly Los Lagos, saw a 2.9% increase, accumulating 104.4 million liters.
This region remains at the forefront, contributing 48.7% to the national output. In contrast, La Araucanía faced a slight decrease of 0.4%. In the Center-South, Biobío experienced a 4.3% decline, while Ñuble showed a positive 8.2% change.
The Central Zone saw overall mixed performance, with Valparaíso increasing by 6.8%, and the Metropolitan region by 5.8%. Overall, the dairy sector reflects varied regional dynamics, suggesting both opportunities and challenges ahead.
