The CEO, Nolan Berg, provided updates during a December dairy conference, highlighting the progress and readiness for the upcoming spring phase. Once completed by the end of 2024, the facility, a joint venture by the Western Milk Pool, will mark a milestone as the first of its kind in Canada. Despite regulatory challenges and some pandemic-related delays, the project exemplifies collaborative efforts among Western Canadian dairy producers, aiming to streamline processing, reduce transportation costs, and enhance environmental sustainability.

With a central-Alberta location, Dairy Innovation West aims to bridge the gap between farms and distant processing plants, concentrating milk and supporting processor expansion. The facility's utilization of cutting-edge technologies, such as reverse osmosis and ultrafiltration, underscores its commitment to efficiency and innovation. The project signifies a positive step for the Western Canadian dairy industry, showcasing its ability to overcome challenges and find sustainable solutions for the benefit of all producers in the region.
