Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan Aidarbek Saparov reported an 18% increase in the turnover of agricultural products between Kazakhstan and Germany in 2023, reaching 123 million US dollars. He shared this information during a meeting with the Chairman of the Board of the Eastern Committee of the German Economy, Katrina Klaas-Mulheuser.
The Eastern Committee of the German Economy, which is one of the largest and oldest business communities, expresses interest in developing partnerships with Kazakhstan, especially in agriculture. Ms. Klaas-Mulheuser stressed the high interest of the association's members in investing in the Kazakh agricultural sector.
Aidarbek Saparov also expressed gratitude for the contribution of the Eastern Committee to the development of bilateral trade, economic and investment cooperation between the countries.
"Germany is our long-standing strategic partner, and Kazakhstan is interested in further expanding bilateral cooperation in the field of agriculture and in increasing trade turnover. In 2023, the trade turnover of agricultural products between our countries increased by 18% and amounted to 123 million US dollars. I believe that the potential for the development of trade between our countries has great prospects for further expansion," the head of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan noted.
Work continues on the creation of a Regional Center for sustainable agriculture on behalf of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. This center will contribute to a more efficient use of the country's agricultural potential and the introduction of innovative technologies.
The meeting also discussed the possibilities of investing in the agricultural sector of Kazakhstan, for which various measures of support from the state are provided.
