The secretary of Rural Development, Mauro Parada, addresses the challenges faced by dairy farmers in Chihuahua due to drought and rising feed costs, aiming to improve sustainability and production.

In response to the drought situation affecting many farmers and livestock producers in the Central-South zone of Chihuahua, the Secretary of Rural Development, Mauro Parada, highlighted that the key factors harming dairy farmers are the lack of rain and rising feed costs, leading to a decrease in milk production.
Parada emphasized the need for technical support to improve crop yields and profitability, stating that better-fed livestock increases milk production and quality, enhancing the sustainability of both farming and livestock operations.
He noted the significance of close interaction with farmers, offering subsidies and support to tackle the crisis, which impacts local economies by affecting related industries such as feed production, transport, and local trade. The state has just under a thousand socially classified dairy producers facing significant economic challenges due to reduced income in the dairy industry.
