Grocery price growth in Spain in December reached its lowest level in almost 2 years

The annual increase in prices for food and non-alcoholic drinks in Spain in December 2023 was 7.3%. The relevant data were published by the Kingdom's National Institute of Statistics.
According to his information, this figure is 1.7 percentage points lower than the figure for November 2023. “This dynamic was due largely to the fact that prices for milk, eggs and cheese, bread, cereals and meat increased less than in December 2022 ,” the institute explained. “ Prices for legumes and vegetables fell compared with the increase in 2022." According to El País newspaper, the December figure is the lowest since March 2022.
The statistics institute added that annual inflation in Spain in the last month of 2023 was 3.1%, compared to 3.2% in November.
