Milk production in Kazakhstan increased by 4.4% in January-August 2024
The leaders in milk production were the Turkestan region, where 318.8 thousand tons were produced (+16.6%), the North Kazakhstan region with 262.7 thousand tons (+6.2%), as well as the regions of Abay (203.4 thousand tons, +2.6%), Almaty (189.2 thousand tons, +5.5%) and Pavlodar (164.2 thousand tons, +1.8%).
The growth in milk production reflects the positive dynamics in the country's agricultural sector, helping to strengthen food security and meet domestic demand for dairy products.
In addition to milk, there was also an increase in meat production - 683.5 thousand tons (+4.7%) and a slight increase in egg production - 2.9 billion pieces (+0.8%).
However, despite the increase in agricultural production volumes, retail prices for milk, meat and eggs continue to rise, reflecting the general trend of rising food prices in Kazakhstan.
