Ten Vermont farms are among the recipients, emphasizing the commitment to fostering long-term viability, climate resilience, and economic sustainability for dairy farms.

The funded projects encompass a diverse range of initiatives aimed at enhancing farm operations. These include the integration of technologies such as robotic manure scrapers to enhance herd health and comfort, the modernization of milking parlors for improved labor and energy efficiencies, and the adoption of climate-smart alternatives like sorghum forage in place of corn silage. The common thread among these projects is the shared goal of promoting livestock well-being, creating environmentally friendly conditions, and enhancing the daily operations of farmers and their teams.

The Northeast Dairy Business & Innovation Center envisions a resilient regional dairy sector that benefits farmers, processors, and consumers, positioning dairy as a leader in climate-forward agriculture. In addition to providing grants that encourage innovation in regional dairy production, the NE-DBIC will host the Northeast Dairy Innovation Summit in Albany, New York, in April, providing a platform for industry stakeholders to collaborate and explore progressive solutions.
