From Livestock to Innovation: Kazakhstan and Europe Expand Agricultural Cooperation

The Czech Republic Focuses on Multifaceted Interaction

Vice Minister of Agriculture of the Czech Republic, Pavel Sekáč, stated that Prague considers Kazakhstan a key partner in Central Asia.

"Today, nine Czech companies representing various agricultural sectors are present here. Our cooperation with Kazakhstan focuses on multiple directions—livestock, crop production, and agricultural machinery. We consider this event a strategic moment for market presence," Sekáč noted.

According to him, the Czech Republic has already been actively supplying breeding livestock and agricultural machinery to Kazakhstan.

"The number of livestock supplied in recent years exceeded 11,000 heads, and we hope this number will only grow," he added.

Belarus Expands Exports and Joint Projects

Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus, Alexander Yakovchits, reported on the dynamic development of bilateral relations.

"Our mutual trade in food and agricultural products with Kazakhstan shows dynamic growth. Last year it increased by 20%, and in the first eight months of this year, it has already grown by 27%," Yakovchits noted.

The Belarusian delegation presented cooperation areas—from seed production and breeding livestock to agricultural education and processing.

"We have prepared draft agreements, and signings are expected at the exhibition site that will increase joint activity volumes and strengthen the agro-industrial potential of our republics," he added.

Germany Offers Energy-Efficient Solutions and Educational Initiatives

The Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Kazakhstan, Monika Iversen, emphasized that German companies view Kazakhstan as a promising direction for investments and technological exchange.

"A large number of German companies are represented at this exhibition. Kazakhstani enterprises have invested significant funds in German technologies—only in 2023, this amount reached 450 million euros," the diplomat reported.

According to her, Germany is ready to offer Kazakhstan innovations in water conservation, thermal and energy efficiency, and is also actively developing academic and professional exchange programs.

"The exchange of students and specialists is growing, and this directly contributes to increasing agricultural productivity," Monika Iversen emphasized.

KazAgro/KazFarm-2025: Center of Agricultural Innovations

The KazAgro/KazFarm-2025 exhibitions brought together over 300 companies from 25 countries, including Germany, the Czech Republic, Austria, Belarus, Iran, Russia, and China. The main directions of the forum are livestock, agrotechnics, processing, and production digitization.

According to organizers, more than 300 farms in Kazakhstan have already implemented smart technologies, and the total number of joint ventures with European capital in the agricultural sector has exceeded 120.

Experts note that the sustainable development of Kazakhstan's agricultural sector and high interest from foreign investors create a new model of international cooperation—from importing breeding livestock and machinery to integrating digital solutions and next-generation agrotechnologies.
