A 190-acre dairy farm near Newcastle West in Limerick was successfully auctioned on May 29 at GVM Auctioneers on Glentworth Street, Limerick, achieving a final sale price exceeding €4 million.
Known as Clare House in Kilcolman, Co Limerick, the property is a well-maintained dairy farm that has been developed over many years. "It's a top-class dairy farm that's been nurtured and developed over many years," remarked Tom Crosse, the selling agent, prior to the auction.
The farm features a residence dating from the 1870s, complemented by a courtyard, cut-stone stores, and sheds. The range of outbuildings includes a 16-unit herringbone milking parlour, large open sheds, a silage apron, and a cattle crush.
With a pre-auction guide price of €3 million (€15,800 per acre), the property was offered in four lots:

Lot 2: 27.5 acres, fetched €500,000 (€18,000 per acre)
Lot 3: 52 acres, including 6 acres of forestry, went for €600,000 (€11,500 per acre)
Lot 4: 12 acres near Kilcolman village, sold for €225,000 (€18,750 per acre)
The total sale price of €4.15 million underscores the strong demand for high-quality land. No fewer than 15 clients had pre-registered for the auction, highlighting the property's desirability.
